General Product Safety Regulations (GPSR) Policy

Tatami Fightwear is dedicated to ensuring that all our products meet the highest safety and quality standards, and are intended for use in practicing certain martial arts.

This General Safety Product Regulations (GPSR) Policy outlines the measures we take to ensure the safety, performance, traceability and compliance of our products.

1. Scope

This policy applies to all products manufactured, sold, or distributed by Tatami Fightwear, including but not limited to:

  • BJJ Gis

  • Rash Guards

  • Grappling Shorts

  • Accessories

2. General Safety Notes

  • Keep products out of the reach of children unless it is specifically designed for child use. Never use our products for anything other than its intended use.

  • Before use, inspect the products carefully. If you notice any defects or damage, do not use the product/s.  Inspect products regularly for any defects including wear and tear before using.

  • Do not modify or alter the product in any way.

  • Store the product in a cool, dry place and avoid environments with high humidity or extreme temperatures.

3. Packaging Disposal

  • Warning: To prevent the risk of suffocation, ensure the packaging is disposed of immediately after opening. Keep packaging materials away from children and do not place plastic bags over your head.

4. Compliance with Safety Standards

4.1 Applicable Regulations

  • All products are designed and manufactured in accordance with GPSR regulations and international safety standards, including but not limited to:

    • ISO 9001: Quality Management Standards

4.2 Traceability

  • The batch number of our products is the SKU/barcode located on either the product itself or its packaging.

4.3 Material Safety

  • Products are free from harmful substances and undergo rigorous testing to ensure they meet health and safety standards.

  • Fabrics and components used in apparel, such as gis and rash guards, are tested for durability.

4.4 Protective Gear Standards

  • Protective equipment sold by Tatami Fightwear, including pads and guards, complies with impact-resistance and material safety standards to minimize risk during use. These products should be checked before and after use for any signs of deterioration and if there are any, they should not be used.

5. Quality Assurance

5.1 Testing Protocols

  • Products are subjected to:

    • Performance testing (e.g., strength, flexibility, and durability).

    • Stress testing under conditions simulating intensive martial arts training.

  • Random batch testing ensures ongoing compliance.

5.2 Product Labels and Instructions

  • Clear instructions for care and maintenance are included with products to maximize safety and longevity.

6. Consumer Responsibilities

6.1 Proper Use

  • Customers are responsible for using products as intended e.g. for the use of practicing combat sports such as martial arts.

  • Misuse or alteration of products voids any safety guarantees.

6.2 Inspection and Replacement

  • Users should regularly inspect gear for signs of wear and tear. Damaged items should be replaced immediately to avoid injury.

7. Incident Reporting

7.1 Customer Feedback

  • If a product-related safety concern arises, customers must report it promptly via info@ar-experts.eu

  • Any general product enquiries should be directed to cs@tatamifightwear.com

  • Reports should include a description of the issue, proof of purchase, and, where applicable, photographs.

7.2 Investigation and Action

  • All safety concerns are reviewed within 21 business days.

  • If a product is found to be unsafe, Tatami Fightwear will issue a recall or corrective action, including refunds or replacements; in line with our product recall policy.

8. Continuous Improvement

Tatami Fightwear regularly reviews and updates safety standards and manufacturing practices to ensure our products remain reliable and compliant with evolving regulations.
